The crossing is permanent — but the old shore never stops calling, dressed up as common sense and being realistic. You can't live in both kingdoms; no one can. Maturity isn't never slipping. It's how fast you turn back. Fall down seventeen times, get up eighteen.

You didn't cross the water to sit on the beach and wait for heaven. You crossed to govern. Paul says you're already seated with Christ — not someday, now — and Jesus said the works He did, His people would do also.

The crowd walked away over the same words the twelve stayed for. The difference wasn't intelligence — it was which faculty they listened with. In the new realm the senses no longer rule; the Spirit does. And One has already lived this way, in a body, where we could watch.

The road runs out at the water's edge, where one ship waits and there is no walking back. This is what baptism always meant — not a ceremony added on after the fact, but the final crossing out of the old realm and into the new.
